Peak Play Times (Saturday – Sunday)

We offer 6 play sessions each week with each session lasting 2 hours.
Please note: Play sessions need to be booked online to secure a space. Walk ins are welcome but there is no guarantee there will be spaces available – pre booking online takes preference.

Our play session times are:

• Saturday:  9am – 11am, 11:30am – 1:30pm and 2pm – 4pm
• Sunday:  9am – 11am, 11:30am – 1:30pm and 2pm – 4pm
• Public Holidays:  9am – 11am, 11:30am – 1:30pm and then 2pm – 4pm

Suggested ages:  Toddlers – 8 years (or from walkers until a child no longer enjoys this type of play).

At times we will have pop-up play sessions on offer during the week – some specifically for toddlers, school groups, birthday parties and special events. These will be advertised on social media and bookings can be made online. These sessions will vary week on week.

After checking in at reception, our warm and friendly Play Makers will invite children to the Playhouse Theatre for a big ‘hello’ and welcome song. They will take a few minutes to introduce themselves along with our Playhouse family of puppets and let children know they too are excited to play. For those children who love songs, dance and drama, the Play Makers will set the scene of ‘a drama in the village that week’ and plant the seed that they may need a little help later on. Without further ado, it’s time for free play, discover and exploration of all the play village has to offer.

Throughout your stay, our Play Makers love nothing more than being invited to play alongside children and embrace the small opportune moments to extend their imaginary playful learning with many of their activities and ideas they have up their sleeve. Skilled in the art of imaginary adventures, from time to time, they will re-ignite the ‘village drama’ and with our playful puppet characters initiate a drama inspired activity that children can choose to join in with…that is if they are not too busy in the very serious business of role play. To ensure the play areas stay safe during play, they will discreetly tidy up and return toys to each role play area so they can continue to be played with and enjoyed.

Nowhere is off bounds to explore and play. Le Petit Playhouse is here for adventurers growing in independence who strive on stretching their imaginary muscles. Children of all different ages can enjoy what we offer here, some children love inviting their parents or Play Makers to play, others become blissfully lost in their own world of imaginary play. Children are free to follow their own interests and dive in and out of each role play area, and spend as much or as little time they like with any of what looks to be spontaneous drama activities.

When play is nearing to an end, our Play Makers will let children know it’s nearly time to go until the next time and bring the play session to a close with our ‘Tidy up Song and Goodbye’ for a fond farewell until the next time we meet.
